WELCOME
The purpose of this website it to introduce the limitations of freedom and movement in the Native American Community in a religious context. These pages explore religious freedoms in the 19th and 20th century, along with freedom of movement and what spaces the government allows them to occupy. This portion employs a StoryMap that takes the reader to places of religious importance to various Native groups. We chose this topic because we feel that the discussion of limitations on religious freedoms within the Native American community is not well talked about or known. In order to best present the issues, we have chosen to use mostly indigenous sources to provide the information on this topic in order to remain respectful to the Native groups that struggle with fairly exercising their religion. The goal of these pages is to encourage the reader to spread the information within this website in order to educate more people on this topic.
